Setting Up Email for the Apple iPhone

Setting up your personal email account on your iPhone® lets you send and receive email using your phone.

1.  Press the Home button and select Settings > Mail, Contact, Calendar > Add Account > Other

2.  Enter your name and email address that you want to show in the from field.

3.  Enter the Password, and enter a description of the email address to display in the email account list on your iPhone (i.e. me@mydomain.com) press Save.

4.  Select either POP or IMAP.

5.  Enter the Host Name for your incoming mail server (i.e. mail.yourdomain.com ).

6.  Enter the User Name for the outgoing mail server (typically this is your email address).  Enter your Password and scroll down.

7. Enter the Host Name for your outgoing mail server (i.e. mail.yourdomain.com ).  Enter the User Name and your Password.  Typically this is the same as the information that was used for the incoming mail server, press Save.

8.  Click on "Advanced". 

9.  Under the Heading "Incoming Settings":

  • Use SSL: Set to OFF
  • Authentication: Set to Password
  • Server port: 110

10.  Under the heading "Outgoing Settings":

o    Use SSL: Set to OFF

o    Authentication: Password

o    Server Port 26

11.  Congratulations! You have configured your iPhone to check an email account.
